Wealth Management Trading Team Manager

Role Responsibility

Role Overview: 

To motivate, coach and develop a team of Fund Dealing Specialist to meet and exceed business objectives. To engender a culture of pride, commitment and focus in every aspect of their role. Build and develop positive relationships with all internal and external parties. Seek opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of trading processes by identifying trends and managing performance to ensure a culture of continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilites:

 

  • Coaching, training, feedback and career development of your team
  • Staff engagement and motivation
  • Regular 121s
  • Ownership and development of internal training and coaching material
  • Performance and absence management
  • Operational management and accountability for trading function
  • Creates a high performance culture where your team strives to exceed the minimum standards outlined in KPI and SLA measures
  • Effective planning and forward thinking in order to achieve all conflicting deadlines and priorities
  • Takes a lead role in building and maintaining positive relationships with all internal and external parties
  • Works collaboratively with internal team and across the wider SS&C business
  • Identifies process improvements to improve quality and increase efficiency
  • Ensure all regulatory training is completed for self and team
  • Adheres to best market and regulatory practices

  • Chair team meetings and actively contribute to department meetings
  • Able to execute trades across multiple products, systems and platforms
  • Able to process trades of large value accurately with due care and attention
  • Can interpret and communicate complex data
  • Must actively seek and respond positively to feedback. Use service failures both internally and externally as an educator to improve our process, procedures and overall service
  • Respond positively to the goals of the team, support colleagues, and actively contribute to the success of the overall SS&C Wealth Management division
  • Takes a broad view of own role and its impact on the team and company
  • Retains strong focus on professional standards and results, which directly contribute and impact on business targets
  • Can take on additional tasks and projects within the department to improve team/department performance

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • People Management / Leadership experience (ideally within the Financial Services or a quality focused environment)
  • Quality driven with a pride in delivering excellence
  • Experience of building effective relationships with internal and external clients
  • Responsible and accountable for the completion of objectives and tasks; holding themselves and their team accountable
  • Willing to successfully adapt to changing demands and conditions
  • Able to demonstrate integrity
  • Uses their initiative to seek out new opportunities to enhance the service
  • Able to work in co-operation with others to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Able to effectively plan, manage own time and co-ordinate others
  • Demonstrates high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex information
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use complex IT systems
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages

Desirable: 

  • Trading experience
  • Knowledge of Unit Trusts, OEICs, SICAV and Hedge Funds
  • Experience with Fund Platforms and Industry Messaging Standards
  • IOC qualified or working towards qualification
  • Used to juggling various Service Levels and Key Performance Indicators
