Switchboard and Property and Commercial Administrator

Role Responsibility

Core Responsibilities

  • To be the first point of contact for all incoming calls to the DST SS&C main switchboard, in a professional manner, promoting and enhancing the Company reputation by providing exceptional client experiences
  • To act as the central helpdesk function for the Property and Commercial team. This involves receiving and logging jobs onto the system with correct onward distribution to team members in each location
  • To provide relief Reception / Administrator cover at other Essex offices during holidays and periods of unexpected absence
  • To attend and actively contribute to team meetings
  • To develop an understanding of Company client profiles, products and culture enabling outstanding customer service
  • To learn and develop Administrator / Receptionist tasks so able to support the team as and when required
  • To actively seek and respond to feedback positively to improve our process, procedures and overall service to our internal and external customers
  • To contribute to the overall team deliverables by completing adhoc tasks as required by the team / business 


  • Answering all calls within the agreed specified time
  • Achieving personal and team objectives
  • Providing accurate information to callers at all times
  • Good knowledge of all client profiles / products
  • Demonstrating team focus in all relevant activities
  • Responding positively to all internal and external customers
  • Being flexible and adaptable at all times in response to the challenging, changing environment
  • Supporting colleagues at all times
  • Ensuring administration is accurate and up to date, demonstrating due care and diligence
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations applicable to the role
  • Demonstrating integrity in the execution of duties

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a customer services environment (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and keyboard skills (essential)
  • Customer focused (essential)
  • Ability to work under pressure with an energetic, enthusiastic and flexible attitude (essential)
  • Good skills and experience in Microsoft Office (essential)
