Senior Relationship Manager, Distributor Client Services

Job Introduction

This is an important role that is key to DST's USP. This role is central to DST engaging with the platform and distributor space in UK and across Europe.  Main responsibilities include:

  • To lead the Distributor Services Relationship Team and build collaborative and open working relationships with the Nominees, Fund Supermarkets, platforms and counterparties that trade with the DST Management Companies
  • To work closely with the Innovation team and other internal teams to drive forward projects for commercial or operation success with the Distributor and Management Company community.  
  • The team provides an efficient escalation point of contact to ensure the correct focus for service is maintained.
  • The team will hold scheduled relationship meetings with distributors to drive forward open communications to enable a collaborative working relationship and new commercial opportunities.
  • The team will work with internal business contacts to drive forward the Global Distribution Service proposal.

Role Responsibility

Service Delivery

  • Initiate, build and sustain effective relationships with the Nominees and Management Companies.
  • Establish and maintain an engagement program with Distributors and Mancos to ensure a collaborative working relationship.
  • Be accountable for any escalated Nominee enquiries.
  • Build and sustain key internal relationships.
  • Promote Distributor Services tools and sell the service including Distributor Portal.
  • Maintain an internal contacts management system for use across DCS..
  • Produce or oversee a monthly bulletin for DST Management Companies as a review of Distributor Services over the previous month.
  • Be up to date on the latest IT developments and be in a position to update our distributors on progress.
  • Promotion and ownership of DCS services with a view to increasing STP rates and reducing contact
  • To understand the distributors operating models and future plans to better service their needs.
  • Accountable for identifying Learning and Development needs for team members.
  • Accountable for assessing the impact of Learning and Development on team members.
  • Support BAU as a Senior Manager and to deputise for Senior Managers as and when required to do so.

Process Management

  • To ensure processes and procedures are appropriately adhered to and improved where necessary.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain and build positive working relationships with external and Management Company contacts.
  • Develop & Improve Client Relations at a senior level (CIO, CTO, CEO etc.)
  • Demonstrate understanding of Industry and Compliance regulation.
  • Suggest system enhancements and procedural improvements.
  • Ensure the highest level of Customer Service and professionalism is provided at all times.
  • Develop and Improve Communication, to ensure DST operationally meet and exceed business requirements and client expectations.
  • Spot opportunity within distributors businesses for commercial activity and share internally within DST.

Staff PDR’s, Training & Development.

  • 1:1’s, Training & Development. To complete where appropriate to ensure team progress in respect of quality and productivity.
  • Maintain corporate and DCS ideals within team.
  • Manage any staff issues and requirements in line with corporate policy.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Investment industry qualifications or a desire to study
  • Previous experience within a client facing role
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to analyse and appraise work, to identify potential areas of concern that could lead to risk.
  • Excellent keyboard skills to include awareness of MS Office packages.
  • Excellent Verbal reasoning and numeric skills.
  • Ability to analyse and identify potential areas of concern that could lead to risk
  • Demonstrate an understanding of responsibilities within the Financial Services Industry.
  • Ability to investigate, interpret and relay systems information.
  • Proven client relationship skills
  • Investment industry qualifications or a desire to study
