Senior Operations Manager – Book & Pricing

A fantastic and unique opportunity has come up within the SS&C Book and Pricing team based in Essex

This is a critical operational function within our business and will provides the opportunity of  exposure to key senior stakeholders and all clients across a range of products

This role offers a varied working day within a fast paced environment managing demanding and conflicting deadlines, team motivation and development,  and reacting to different situations as and when they occur.

Although the business operating hours are 37.5 hours this is not a typical 9am to 5pm role, it requires a level of flexibility to support any business critical requirements.

The successful candidate will bring relevant skills for the current role and broader financial services experience.

Role Responsibility

Book and Pricing is a key operational area within SS&C which provides fund flow information which enables the fund Manager to trade, data which enables the Fund Accountant to price and calculation and delivery of  the Creations /Liquidations within the Trustee regulatory deadline. Our clients expect all information to be provided timely and accurately within the agreed KPI’s.

As the Senior Manager you will provide operational and technical direction to two Managers and oversees the function of Book and Pricing both in UK and India who are responsible for the completion of all box management and fund pricing across our client base .

Responsibility for other activities including Fund events impacting the Box process, pricing error calculations, process enhancements, offshoring initiatives and the development of inter-department relationships and Clients relationships. 

Automation and cross training will be at the forefront of new initiatives within this role as will the implementation of operational efficiencies.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential skills to qualify for role;

  • Experience in the Financial Services Investment Industry.
  • IOC qualifications – or working towards final papers
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of working in a team or self-starting.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and client facing skills.
  • Strong demonstrated presentation and analytical skills.
  • Experience of operational management such as problem solving, accountability and planning skills.
  • Management experience and reporting to senior business owners.
  • Ability to create operation flows and operating model documentation

Desirable skills;

  • Exposure to CASS.
  • Experience with Client Facing meetings
  • Knowledge of the Box Management process
  • Experience of running global teams
