Senior Delivery Manager

Basildon, Essex

The Product/Innovation team are responsible for the update and transformation of the digital services provided to our clients, as well as supporting any new product initiatives to ensure that SS&C Global Investor and Distribution Solutions  are supporting our clients wishes to continually develop their offerings to their investors. The role will be supporting the existing fully cross functional team including Product Owners and associated development/QA experts, to deliver new multiple, concurrent Digital services and new products for clients, using best practice methodologies and processes, to agreed timelines, budget and to quality expectations, in line with: agreed objectives, business case and quality gate measures.

To deliver consistent, timely and accurate reporting, including: project updates, RAID logs, financial/budgetary controls and project-wide resource requirements. Compliance with the Enterprise Change Framework and all quality/stage gates. To deliver timely, concise, accurate and relevant communication with stakeholders, internally and to clients/3rd parties. The role will also be required to align with Agile delivery practices.

Responsibilities:

1. Product Implementation

  • Support the implementation of the digital products to all required clients and align (where required) the implementations to the pre-existing ECF and process/procedures that support this.
  • Creating repeatable processes to continually improve product roll outs
  • Involvement and implementation of a change framework to support a continual delivery mythology. 

2. Project Initiation

  • Confirm required Business case is in place and agreed, including Epic’s/Strategic Themes  
  • Confirm and engage with stakeholders (internal, external and 3rd party) to ratify scope and objectives
  • Identification of Actions, Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies
  • Review Lessons Learnt log (from previous projects) for any relevant items to incorporate into planning
  • Establish governance structure for project and clarify project team roles and responsibilities
  • Identify cross/multi-project dependencies (where appropriate) and align plans across all
  • Ensure all development teams are identified, and steps to complete are agreed and documented     

3. Project Budgetary Control

  • Maintain control of budget expenditure across all areas and activities
  • Provide budgetary reporting by updating project spreadsheets
  • Undertake financial monitoring throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide detailed explanations for any deviation from the budget, according to agreed contingency criteria, ensuring early escalation if required

4. Project Monitoring and Communication

  • Monitor progress and maintain regular, timely and accurate communications with Stakeholders            
  • Provide reporting to various stakeholder audiences, setting and managing expectations at all stages
  • Chair and document meetings, initiate and facilitate discussions including management of issues, getting collective agreement on next steps
  • Ensure quality gate requirements are met at relevant stages during the project lifecycle
  • Document and track issues through to resolution, prioritising and escalating as appropriate

5. Project Team Management

  • Manage, support & motivate team
  • Maintain team’s focus
  • Secure and maintain commitment from other teams to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Provide regular updates to team and wider stake holders

6. Project Facilitation

  • Managing and monitoring ARAID
  • Managing changes to plans, assessing impact on business case and escalating as appropriate
  • Identification and resolution of potential resource conflicts, escalating as necessary
  • Prepare and run Steering Committees where required

7. Project Diligence

  • Maintain governance: follow best practice project methodology and use approved document templates
  • Keep all documents up to date, accurate, formatted, in correct folder structure, version controlled, ready for audit inspections
  • Completion of Closure Report within Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframe
  • Compliance with Information Security requirements

8. Continuous Improvement

  • Support the adoption of Agile within the team and how Project Management will integrate with the implementation.
  • Highlight key issues experienced and capture approach/actions taken to resolve   - feed into lessons learnt for the benefit of future projects (and capture relevant information from other project team members)
  • Highlight process improvements implemented during project and communicate to Line Manager to consider application in future projects/other activities
  • Complete Post-Implementation Review (PIR) as appropriate to identify positive outcomes and areas for improvement future implementations
