Finance System Support and Development Technical Expert

Job Introduction

  • To Support the FSSD Team on new client take on and system enhancements
  • To support the Client Finance division in the resolution of BAU processing issues, ensuring a high standards are maintained in accordance with IFDS standards
  • To liaise with both internal and external parties in regards to system support and development
  • Support the CFD in utilising systems to their full potential

Generate and interpret stats for M/SM detailing current system status including performance based on root cause, trend analysis, divisional initiative meetings and help desk stats

Role Responsibility

  • System support
    • Understand key business processes to enable a high standard of resolution on helpdesk calls
    • Understand key system functionality limitations and the impact on business processing for changes being proposed
    • Act as referral point for senior associates
    • Investigate, document and propose solutions to M/SM for complex issues, advising of root cause, impact, cost, benefit to gain their approval
    • Provide support for the Client Finance Division on system related issues, investigate and provide assistance in the resolution
    • Provide system support to remote clients ensuring all issues are resolved in a timely manner within SLA
    • Provide second line support for complex issues
    • Provide live support for the various banking systems used by IFDS, liaising with both internal and external parties
    • Log all changes through a change control process to ensure all are documented for audit purposes
    • To liaise with the business teams and Production Support to prioritise issues and fixes requiring further investigation outside of client finance solutions escalating where necessary
    • Understanding of the underlying infrastructure and how systems link/connect/flow together and the impact this can have on deliverables
    • To provide live support on IFDS systems and surround technology


  • Projects
    • Act as a project owner within the Finance System Support team for medium sized projects and/or changes to finance systems, ensuring adequate support is provided to the division throughout
    • Act as a project owner within the Finance System Support ¬†team in the implementation of new and revised business processes affecting reconciliation systems
    • Provide post project implementation support to the business teams within Client Finance
    • Work with relevant areas in division to support Pseudo testing and accomplish resolution of issues.
    • Provide training to rest of the team on new processes and amendments to existing
    • Complete project reporting, highlighting and escalating issues, tracking resolutions as directed by M/SM
    • System demos (Frontier, Xceptor, Bottomline, Infor)
    • Attend client sites for meetings as required
    • Act as support for manager/specialist on large projects, adhering to their project governance
    • Act as referral point for senior associates
    • Able to own project with minimal guidance from Manager / Specialist
    • Investigate system set up issues and liaise with the standing data team as relevant to resolve.
    • Evaluate facts/data to consider impacts of possible solutions on the Client Finance division prior to implementation
    • Attend workshops/meetings on behalf of the Client Finance division with both internal and external parties
    • Liaise with IFDS testing teams, ensure appropriate testing is completed, accurate output is received and reviewed by the business teams within Client Finance and provide feedback where applicable
