Finance Payments Apprentice
Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes designed around the needs of employers, which lead to nationally recognised qualifications. They are designed by the Sector Skills Councils, while the National Apprenticeship Service helps to fund the training. Our Apprenticeships take 18 months and are a combination of on-the-job training and assessment and qualifications.
Based within the Corporate Finance Team, our Accounts Payable team supports the management of key stakeholders, by ensuring supplier invoices, employee expense claims, corporate credit cards and compensations are processed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with company procedures and policies, and that these liabilities are controlled and accurately reflected in the company’s accounts.
Based within our Corporate Finance function, our Accounts Payable team undertake the following responsibilities:
Act as an initial point of contact for suppliers, deal with supplier queries and carry out supplier statement reconciliations;
Manage employee expenses/ credit cards, perform receipt reviews, check coding and PSA's, deal with employee queries relating to expenses and process compensation;
Sort incoming mail, assist the business with relevant queries, complete other appropriate adhoc tasks whilst working to SLA's.
The successful Apprentice will be supported in their learning and development on a day to day basis, whilst undertaking the tasks above and studying for an AAT level 2 exam.
The Ideal Candidate
- GCSE Mathematics and English Language Grade C or above (essential)
- Some experience within an office and/or customer service environment (highly preferred)
- A good telephone manner and excellent verbal communication skills.
- A strong command of spelling and grammar with good letter-writing skills.
- Good general computer skills including basic Word, Excel and email (plus any experience of using an in-house database is a bonus)
- The ability to work to daily/weekly deadlines and follow strict processes
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with a keen emphasis on the quality of your work is vital.
- Above all the desire to learn and an eagerness to begin a career in the financial services sector!

DST offers a fully paid Apprenticeship leading to an NVQ Level 2 and Finance qualification. All training is via E –Portfolios/webinar/on the job. No attendance at college is needed and you will be amongst many other current and former Apprentices, so, with great support!
Starting salary- Level 2 - £12,500 with ongoing reviews
