ELearning Developer

Job Introduction

The purpose of this role is to design, build and publish a variety of innovative eLearning content to comply with DSTs mandatory training requirements.  To drive forward eLearning projects, as well as actively promote engagement with eLearning across the company

Role Responsibility

Design

  • Conduct appropriate Training Needs Analysis (TNA) with the business as new training requests are identified, to fully understand training requirement
  • Manage projects and work closely with clients/project sponsors to assess and analyse requirements and complete detailed project briefs/specifications.
  • Suggest innovative and creative solutions to identified training needs
  • Design a variety of online offerings to support  mandatory and  regulatory requirements
  • Regularly review and update existing training material liaising with the business stakeholder, where required
  • Developing e-learning using authoring tools such as Storyline
  • Incorporate knowledge assessment through use of various methods, to include question banks

Publish

  • Review and amend e-learning courses with thorough testing before releasing to clients.
  • Liaise with the business on technical issues experienced while using content
  • Liaise with IT departments on issue resolution and improvement
  • Publish and test content on Learning Management System

Promote

  • Actively promote online content to increase engagement company wide
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of eLearning, identifying areas for continuous improvement
  • Provide regular  updates on the progress of learning projects and usage of e-learning modules
  • Engage with local eLearning development to promote consistency in delivery

Other

  • To support the wider Regulatory Development Team & Compliance, where applicable, to carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed

Continuing Professional Development

  • To develop the key skills and knowledge to satisfy requirements of the role
 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of design with a range of e-tools, specifically Articulate Storyline
  • Experience designing storyboards and scripts with a creative eye
  • Ability to write effective question banks
  • Experience publishing content to an e-learning management system
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Attention to detail
  • Proactive problem solving
  • Understanding of learning theory
  • Competent in producing professional written communications
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint

Desirable

  • Understanding of blended learning and the ways in which e-learning can be integrated effectively into blended programmes
  • Competent in all areas of the training cycle; Training Needs Analysis, Design, Delivery & Evaluation
  • Project management experience
  • Proven ability to work within a networked environment
