Role Responsibility

Client Money Reporting and Control Specialist

Grade: P3

Main purpose of role:

  • To take ownership and act as departmental point of contact for new business and initiatives.
  • To identify, initiate and implement change as required
  • To have an awareness of all team tasks in line with relevant regulation and oversight
  • Act as an SME for the department, and provide a reference point for associates of all levels
  • To provide departmental cover as required
  • Co-ordinate the provision of departmental technical support and participation in projects


  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all teams within the business
  • Organises and manages own workload and deadlines, communicating appropriately around deliverables whilst ensuring that the technical team activity is logged and updates are provided to Senior Management
  • Oversee Project and Change Management on behalf of the department, including runbooks and post live support
  • Work with relevant areas to submit business requirements for new business/initiatives and assist with system design where required prior to build and test phases, to ensure there is no downstream impact to our internal processes and client SLAs
  • Working with IT and development teams to test and rollout new process and system enhancements including system releases
  • Apply SME knowledge to review test output from the FAST/iFAST Testing team for system releases, regression testing, WT fixes and any other centrally managed change
  • Support the DST Testing team with test scenarios and defect resolution
  • Oversee testing sign off with the Testing/Project/Release Managers on behalf of the CMR department
  • Connect testing scope and oversight above with other CMR support streams i.e. Quality Team, plus Audit and Control Oversight function
  • Act as point of escalation to provide assistance and training to other team members as and when required
  • Compilation and analysis of MI, creating management summaries for Senior management
  • Present process enhancements and control changes to internal and external audiences in relation to project and releases
  • Engage with the Compliance team, Business Analysts, and CASS-Coordinator team on shaping compliant and robust processes for CMR
  • Confidently meet with clients and put forward solutions to existing issues, engaging them with ideas for moving repeat problems forward
  • Voice concerns constructively
  • Manage the co-ordination and implementation of process improvements
  • Liaise with CMR centricity stream Specialists on workload managed locally in streams vs supported centrally in the CMR tech team
  • Represent CMR on CASS incidents from daily calls through to resolution including any process controls and testing oversight required
  • Manage and prioritise ad-hoc issues raised to Work Track for CMRC, including P1 issues where necessary
  • Provide live support to centricity stream Team Managers, and connect the tech team with business teams to effectively manage change for CMR
  • Maintain business knowledge and experience in the tech team through an effective skills matrix, training and business exposure plan
  • To carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed

  • Good knowledge of DST systems (e.g. FAST, iFAST, Frontier, INFOR10, FSU, AWD10)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft based software (e.g. Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Industry knowledge
  • Good knowledge of Client Money requirements in line with current regulations
  • Strong Reconciliation skills and knowledge of different operational models
