Cash Management Operations Team Leader

Role Responsibility

To lead a team and ensure that all Cash Management Processes are completed in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 

Responsibilities include:

  • Professional Standards: To adhere to the department’s professional standards and security policy and to ensure you maintain these within your team by monitoring and supporting the team
  • Incidents: To raise all incidents on Risk Online, notify your Manager and ensure these are documented on the end of day issues email. To complete an Incident report where necessary
  • Payment Authorisation: To authorise payments daily and within the set timescales, following a checklist to ensure payments are released in the correct order. Ensure there are no payments outstanding at the end of the day
  • Treasury and Liquidity Monitoring: To support the daily treasury and liquidity processes, ensuring the correct dispatch of the report and ensuring that all subsequent payments and dealing are completed correctly and timely
  • Training & Communication: To liaise with the quality coach for training new members of staff within the team. Ensure that all training is carried out to staff within you team for new procedures and processes. To hold weekly team meetings to ensure all information is communicated
  • Control of workflows: To monitor workflows with the use of the daily reporting to ensure all work is completed with agreed SLA’s.
  • Resource management: Ensure that workloads are covered throughout periods of staff absence
  • Investigation and Resolution of Enquiries to the required standards to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)  
  • Offshoring - Support any work being offshored. Ensure all queries and refers are addressed timely. Provide analysis and training support to prevent further incidents
  • Audit & Evidencing support:  Attend meetings with auditors and management companies providing knowledge of procedures and controls. Support the collation of evidence
  • Quality & Governance: Support breach investigation and preventative actions including procedure changes, training discussions and feedback delivery 

Statistic Reporting: 

  • Complete Monthly stats within the set deadlines. Ensure all Breach forms and internal Cash Management forms (Route cause/Breach/System Enhancement etc) are completed in a timely manner.

Issue Resolution:

  • Escalation of issues to the relevant Management level in appropriate timeframes
  • To oversee the investigation and resolution of all items outstanding for Cash Management on the various Reconciliation’s. (Bank recs/Asset recs/Client Accounting recs). Ensuring that regular status reports are communicated back to the appropriate area via e-mail or Frontier.

Staffing responsibilities: 

  • To perform or assist with 1-2-1 staff meetings
  • Additional Responsibilities: complete any other appropriate ad hoc tasks as required/directed by one of the managers. 


  • Accountable for ensuring that team members are aware of how their individual objectives link to corporate goals
  • Accountable for identifying learning and development needs for team members
  • Accountable for assessing the impact of learning and development on team members

Key performance areas:

  • SLA’s are adhered to
  • Clearly defined & documented processes and procedures are adhered to
  • Performance KPI targets are met
  • Relevant staff are coached where required
  • Personal productivity and quality targets are met
  • To comply with all Client Money and Money Laundering FCA regulations
  • To ensure all daily processing deadlines are met within their team

The Ideal Candidate


  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail 
  • IOC or equivalent or commitment to study for IOC 
  • Good keyboard skills to include awareness Word and Excel 
  • Good Verbal reasoning and numeric skills
  • Experience in Financial Services Investment Industry 
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative when required 
  • Experience in double entry book keeping and Banking 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Good organization skills


  • 2 years supervisory experience 
  • Working experience within a Cash Control environment 
  • Knowledge of PEP, ISA, Unit Trust, OEIC or Investment Trust administration 
  • Knowledge of FCA regulatory environment
  • Knowledge of CASS 7 
  • Knowledge of the difference client money models
  • To carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
